Consider Cloth

A simple, healthy, economic, and incredibly CUTE way to do your part for
the environment.
EARTH-FRIENDLY: Use cloth diapers and reduce your family's waste by 1,000 pounds per child! Cloth
diapers don't contain any of the chemicals that disposables are loaded
with. By washing them yourself you control what soaps and products will nuzzle up to your baby's skin. AND the waste water is going to the
appropriate facilities for treatment and reintroduction to the environment -
not sitting and decaying in a landfill full of bacteria-laden
poop. Poop in landfills leaches into the ground water in the runoff. Poor fish!
BABY-FRIENDLY: Use cloth diapers and reduce diaper rash! Diaper rash is seldom a problem
when using cloth diapers. Cloth diapers are more breathable and cloth diapered
babies are changed more often. The plastic in disposable diapers doesn't breath and doesn't allow air to circulate against the baby's delicate skin. There are studies that say disposable diapered babies have lower sperm count because of this extra heat.
In addition, more rapid bacterial growth occurs with disposables and can cause diaper rash. If
your baby has sensitive skin, your baby may also react to the chemicals in disposable
diapers.
Ask yourself: Would you like to spend 20,000 hours in underwear made of petroleum, paper, and hyper-absorbent materials?
EASY: With the invention of Velcro and
Snappis(TM), the new styles of cloth diapers available are as easy to use as a
disposable. They are virtually Daddy, Nanny, and Grandparent-proof.
Cloth diapering isn't how it used to be. No
more swishing in the toilet, stinky wet pail, pinning, touching poop, etc.
ECONOMICAL: USE CLOTH DIAPERS AND SAVE $1000s! On average, you will spend $2500 on
disposable diapers per child. Compare that to an average of $700 (that includes
laundering expenses at about $.50 per load) for your first child's diapering years using cloth
diapers. A second and third child will cost much less, as many of the diapers
can be re-used.
Add cloth wipes to your system and save
$300 more! Just toss them in the diaper pail along with your soiled
diapers and wash together.
RECYCLE USED PREFOLDS: After your done diapering your children, prefolds make great kitchen towels, cleaning wipes, car washing rags, etc.
POTTY TRAINING IS EASIER WITH CLOTH DIAPERS! On average, cloth diapered
children potty train 6 months earlier than children wearing disposable diapers.
Cloth diapers do not mask the sensation of wetness and help the kiddo to become more
attuned to his bodily functions.
